Congratulations to everyone who earned a new title, Destroyer’s End. Thanks to everyone who contributed this week, and special thanks to those who put in extra time last week.
Today is the first day of the Feast of Winter Veil. This holiday, which is the in-game equivalent to Christmas, runs from December 15th – January 2nd.
The activities for this holiday are relatively unchanged. As usual, Metzen the Reindeer finds himself in trouble and needs to be rescued. This year the quest chain becomes a daily quest, with one of the rewards being Lump of Coal.
Wowhead has an excellent guide covering all the events, check it out: http://www.wowheadnews.com/blog=198662/feast-of-winter-veil-december-15-january-2-guide
Today marks our six year anniversary!
Founded on 12-2-2005, Plundercats is one of the oldest guilds on our server. Many of our original members met while guilded in Defenders of The Pass and Black Lotus Elite. After Black Lotus Elite imploded, Panthro (our original GM) decided to start his own guild. Being an obvious fan of Thundercats, Panthro decided to call his new guild Plundercats. The rest is history!
At the time of our founding, the Blizzard Launcher had just been introduced. Patch 1.9.0 – “The Gates of Ahn’Qiraj”, was the next major content update. Paladins joyously celebrated their class revamp, which included 15-minute raid versions of blessings, and the ability to bless all members of a certain class with one click!
To commemorate our anniversary, here’s a video of our first 40 man raid. It’s an encounter with Onyxia and was recorded on January 2nd, 2006, exactly one month after our inception. The video quality is very poor but it’s still a nice piece of nostalgia.
