About Us
Plundercats is an Alliance faction, 10 man raiding guild located on Eldre’Thalas-US. Founded on 12-2-2005, we’re one of the oldest guilds on our server. Our focus is on squeezing as much raiding progression as possible into a few nights a week, and otherwise enjoying the game.
Our Requirements
In order to gain admission into our hallowed halls, an applicant must demonstrate the following traits:
- the Maturity to laugh it off when the guild master puts an add for “intimate encounters” in YOUR name on Craigslist
- the Patience to ward off frustration and maintain focus when the ONE upgrade you need just will NOT drop, after like, 20 weeks
- the Courtesy to pass precious loot (see also: epixxx, lewtz) to people who clearly deserve it way more than you do
- the Competence to not stand in fire, and to also call out on vent when Voroth is standing in fire and should move, because he’s definitely not paying attention
All kidding aside, we have no patience for players who fail to contribute in maintaining a positive and enjoyable environment. This encompasses everything – from interaction with other members to overall preparedness for raiding.
Raiding Information
Our raid schedule is Tue, Wed and Thur from 8:45PM – Midnight EST. We’re currently 4/7 (H) Firelands and and 8/8 Dragon Soul.
Ventrillo is the software package we use for voice communication during raids. A microphone is preferred but not required.
We use a “reserve list” for loot distribution. Each player is allowed to reserve one item per raid. If that item drops it’s automatically awarded to them. Unless changed, reserves carry over from week to week. All other items are distributed by /random, with priority to main over off spec.
In 10 man raids there isn’t much competition for class specific items, like armor and weapons. Its not uncommon for players to win multiple items simply because they’re the only one who can use them. A “reserve list” is an easy way for us to distribute items that can be used by multiple classes, like trinkets, rings and tier armor tokens.
